It's kind of weird to say that I have been totally happy being disconnected from all of these digital worlds that we have all created for ourselves lately. I don't go to Facebook or myspace like I once did. I have not updated my website. I have not written anything on this blog either. I can go further by telling you that I have not gigged since back in August and I have not recorded since before that.
Damn, it feels good to be distracted by reality!
And so - I am checking in with whomever decides to read this. I am alive and well. Perhaps achy and arthritic are better descriptives but it does beat the alternative...doesn't it? I am happy being in this weird (to me) non-creative state. I am content with letting the rest of 2009 come to me as it wishes to come to me. I have no expectations. I am enjoying this moment and letting go of the past and not caring about the future (well, too much anyway).
BUT...I do have ideas for things that I will eventually post on here. Most are not music-related, but some are very much about music. I will try to be more active - at least within the confines of this venue - as I navigate new horizons and lay down some groundwork for things that might come around some time later on down the line.
For the time being, I am going to look forward to seeing Leonard Cohen tomorrow night here in Nashville and then Space Capone on Friday. I am finally coming out of the shadows. If you are feeling like joining me, you know where I will be.
